Who Are We?
At South African Futurist, we believe that the future is in all our hands. The modern connected world faces challenges of no access to clean water, energy, basic education, climate change and inequality. We attempt to address some of these issues and fully encourage all efforts to do so using science, technology, and the inexhaustible human will. We believe that individuals can make a difference right from their homes by creating their own energy, making their own goods and their homes smarter.
Plastic and 3D Printing
Every day, around 8 million pieces of plastic pollution enter our oceans and destroy the ecosystems within. These macro and microplastics weigh up to 270 000 tonnes, making up to 60 to 90% of all marine debris. The philosophy of SAFuturist is sustainability. We aim to create good quality products from recycled PET-G (Glycol modified Polyethylene Terephthalate) plastic found in drink and water bottles. The more plastic we can get off the streets, dumps and rivers, the cleaner our environment will be.
SAFuturist is also about showing people the basics of harnessing your own clean energy from natural resources. This platform is being developed as a instruction tool and source of information for renewable energy.
With the advent of the fourth industrial revolution, more technologies are connecting in ways never thought before. The future is a cleaner and more connected place which you can also join. Another aim of SAFuturist is to empower South Africans to control the world around them by understanding the technologies and creatively applying them for themselves and their homes.
